Suzie Sanocki

Owner, Girls Team Director

Suzie graduated in 1990 from Miami University with a degree in Mass Communications. She attended NCSU pursuing her Masters in Middle Grades Education. Suzie gained her initial coaching experience at Kenny's Gymnastics in Raleigh, NC and then at Atlanta School of Gymnastics in Atlanta, GA. She began coaching at International Gymnastics in June, 1993 where she quickly became the head coach, program director and gym manager. In her 21 years at International Gymnastics Suzie coached several national qualifiers and placed many kids into collegiate gymnastics programs. She has trained kids from preschool gymnastics up to International Elite. Suzie is married to Kirk Sanocki who is a collegiate swim coach and together they have four children - Cole, Carson, Lily and Kendall.

Hannah Mulvihill

Owner, Girls Team Director

Hannah was a gymnast at International Gymnastics for 7 years and competed in the sport of gymnastics for a total of 10 years. She went on to compete as a scholarship cheerleader for Gardner-Webb University while earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Wellness with a minor in Psychology. She has been coaching for 12+ years at various programs in NC, but is in her fourth year on staff at Perfect Balance. 

Teshawne Jackson

Head Optional Team Coach

Teshawne started her gymnastics career as a gymnast at Low Country Gymnastics in Charleston, SC where she competed for 12 years. She competed in Level 10 Eastern National Championships in 1999. Teshawne went on to continue a very successful 4 years at West Virginia as a scholarship gymnast and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in athletic coaching. Coming from a college coaching job, we were happy that she settled into club gymnastics with us here in Charlotte in 2012. Prior to moving to Charlotte, Teshawne held coaching jobs at Ball State, William and Mary, Iowa State and Utah State. Teshawne is a vital part of our coaching staff and we are happy to have her! You may recognize her from coaching gymnastics camps such as Woodward, NC State, Auburn and Georgia.

Andrea Haney

Team Coach

Andrea has been a part of our program since 2007. She has been a vital part of our program as our Pre-Team Director since 2009. Andrea competed as both a club athlete at the Toledo YMCA and also as a high school gymnast at Maumee High School in Toledo, Ohio. She started coaching rec classes in Toledo while attending the University of Toledo. Andrea helps run our class and team programs as well as overseeing our Pre-Team Program.

Kimberly Brafford

Recreational Gymnastics Director

Kimberly is a vital asset to our program as our Recreational Gymnastics Director. She competed for 12 years at North Canton Gymnastics in North Canton, Ohio. She went on to compete as a gymnast for Kent St. while working on a degree in Criminal Justice. Kimberly was a gymnastics director at Woodward Camp for 9 years prior to coming to work with us and still currently works there as a Camp Director. Kimberly was a judge in region 5 for 3 years.

Lisvette Soto

Assistant Team Coach

Lisvette works with our Pre-Team and our USAG team. She started her career as a gymnast in Puerto Rico for 6 years and went on to become a brevet judge in both the US and Puerto Rico. She has judged both college and International meets in Argentine, Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and right here in the US. Lisvette also judged the Pan American Games and World Championships. She has a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources.

Abby Puckett

Assistant Team Coach

Abby works with both our USAG and AAU team programs. Abby, a native Charlottean, grew up participating in competitive gymnastics under Suzie Sanocki. She became an elite gymnast and went on to receive a full athletic scholarship to the University of Georgia. At UGA she won 4 national team championships. She uses her experiences as a gymnast to motivate and encourage each girl to reach their potential. Abby is married to Mitchell Puckett and has two kids, Blair and Woods.

Sam Walseman

Pre-Team Coordinator

Sam has been coaching gymnastics for twelve years. She began her coaching career in Northern New York. Six years ago Sam and her husband made the move to Charlotte where I continued to coach. Sam has a degree in Sociology from UNCC. USAG Safety Certified, First Aid/CPR Certified.

Hallie Penland

Pre Team Director

Hallie is originally from Aiken, South Carolina but grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a competitive gymnast for 13 years and a Level 8, 9, and 10 regional qualifier. Hallie started coaching when she was 15 years old. Upon graduating high school she majored in Kinesiology and Athletic Training at Penn State University. Hallie has been coaching in Charlotte for the past 8 years and I have been full time with PBTC for 3 years. USAG Safety Certified, CPR and First Aid certified.

Kevin Budney

Team Coach

Kevin grew up on long island NY where he spent summers summers there boating and fishing. He has a degree in Business Administration. Kevin coached gymnastics on long island for 6 years, along with that worked 2 years in physical therapy as an aid. He joined PBTC about a year ago and we are thrilled to have him coaching team and tumbling classes. Certified in both CPR and First Aid.

Lizzie Dobek

Team Coach

Lizzie is from Damascus, MD where she was a USAG gymnast until I was about 13. She was training level 8 before I went on to cheer in high school. Lizzie has a degree in exercise science from Marshall university where she was also a member of Marshall University’s dance team. Lizzie has coached for the past 3 years at Harford gymnastics in Maryland before moving here last year for nursing school. Lizzie is in nursing school at Queens University and is First aid and CPR Certified.

Katie Kretz

AAU Team Director

Katie graduated from Western Michigan University in 2016 with a duel degree in Special Education/Elementary Education. She started coaching part time in college and hasn't left the gym since. When she isn't in the gym she enjoys reading and doing Crossfit. She enjoys being the AAU director because it truly is a place where ever gymnasts can be successful. CPR and First Aid Certified

Lisa Soto

Team Coach

Lisa was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and did JO gymnastics all the way through high school. She went to the University of Pittsburgh and majored in Administrative of Justice. Lisa competed on the Pitt gymnastics team and was named co-captain her senior year. Lisa has been coaching for a little over a year now. USAG Safety Certified, CPR/AED and first aid certified.

Lindsey Auten

Summer Camp Director

Lindsey Auten grew up in Charlotte, NC and has been in the gym since the age of 6. Lindsey has filled several roles at PBTC including being a Competitive Team Member, a Coach, and now as the Summer Camp Director. She attended Wingate University where she was a member of the Swim and Dive Team and received her Masters in Elementary Education. Lindsey currently teaches 2nd Grade at Dilworth Elementary, but enjoys spending the summers at the gym in Summer Fun Camp.

Taylor Schmidt

Special Events Director

Taylor was a gymnast at Buckeye gymnastics in Columbus, Ohio where she trained for 7 years. She went on to compete as a cheerleader, and later started coaching both competitive cheerleading and recreational gymnastics. Taylor recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors in Business Management. Taylor works with our recreational gymnastics program as well as special events.

Angel Metcalf

Compulsory Coordinator

Angel was a competitive gymnast for 18 years. She moved from her hometown of Swansboro, NC to train with Perfect Balance for her senior season in 2012. In 2013 she moved to Iowa and attended the University of Iowa on a full gymnastics scholarship. While at Iowa she was awarded All Big Ten First Team honors in 2017 and All Big Ten Second Team honors in 2015 and 2016. She was also named to the Big Ten All Championship team in 2015, 2016, and 2017. She was the Big Ten Uneven Bars silver medalist and a Regional Balance Beam Champion in 2017. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Relations. The last three years she coached compulsory levels at Iowa Gymnastics Academy.
