Suzie Sanocki

Owner, Girls Team Director

Suzie graduated in 1990 from Miami University with a degree in Mass Communications. She attended NCSU pursuing her Masters in Middle Grades Education. Suzie gained her initial coaching experience at Kenny’s Gymnastics in Raleigh, NC and then at Atlanta School of Gymnastics in Atlanta, GA. She began coaching at International Gymnastics in June, 1993 where she quickly became the head coach, program director and gym manager. In her 21 years at International Gymnastics Suzie coached several national qualifiers and placed many kids into collegiate gymnastics programs. She has trained kids from preschool gymnastics up to International Elite. Suzie is married to Kirk Sanocki who is a collegiate swim coach and together they have four children – Cole, Carson, Lily and Kendall.

Hannah Mulvihill

Owner, Girls Team Director

Hannah was a gymnast at International Gymnastics for 7 years and competed in the sport of gymnastics for a total of 10 years. She went on to compete as a scholarship cheerleader for Gardner-Webb University while earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Wellness with a minor in Psychology. She has been coaching for 12+ years at various programs in NC, but began coaching with Suzie in 2012. Suzie and Hannah opened Perfect Balance together in September, 2015.

Ronshell Purnell

Events Director and Recreational Director

Ronshell was born and raised in Delaware. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2019 with her two daughters. She comes from an experienced, professional background with 8 years of youth services and coordinating experience at Delaware Public Libraries. Ronshell came to work for PBTC last year and said she has learned so much about Gymnastics and professionalism! She considers herself a big kid at heart and enjoys working with children, planning awesome events and art.

Teshawne Jackson

Head USAG Optional (levels 6-10) Team Coach

Teshawne started her gymnastics career as a gymnast at Low Country Gymnastics in Charleston, SC where she competed for 12 years. She competed in Level 10 Eastern National Championships in 1999. Teshawne went on to continue a very successful 4 years at West Virginia as a scholarship gymnast and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in athletic coaching. Coming from a college coaching job, we were happy that she settled into club gymnastics with us here in Charlotte in 2012. Prior to moving to Charlotte, Teshawne held coaching jobs at Ball State, William and Mary, Iowa State and Utah State. Teshawne is a vital part of our coaching staff and we are happy to have her! You may recognize her from coaching gymnastics camps such as Woodward, NC State, Auburn and Georgia.

Andrea Haney

Team Coach

Andrea has been a part of our program since 2007. She has been a vital part of our program as our Pre-Team Director since 2009. Andrea competed as both a club athlete at the Toledo YMCA and also as a high school gymnast at Maumee High School in Toledo, Ohio. She started coaching rec classes in Toledo while attending the University of Toledo. Andrea helps run our class and team programs as well as overseeing our Pre-Team Program.

Sarah Hoyng

AAU Director

Sarah grew up in Massachusetts and had been living in Connecticut for the last 10 years before moving to Charlotte. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hartford. Sarah first worked in schools as an assistant teacher and behavioral intervention specialist when she started coaching gymnastics part time 6 years ago. For the last three years, Sarah has been coaching full-time and has taught everything from parent and child classes to team and everything in between. My favorite events to coach are vault and floor.

Morgan Brouse

AAU Director

Morgan was a gymnast for 8 years at International Gymnastics. She started coaching AAU in 2017. Morgan loves gymnastics and working with kids. She was a diver for 5 years and a high school cheerleader for 2 years. She is currently in school for personal training and following with stretch and flexibility coaching.

Mary Grace Reynolds

USAG Director

Mary Grace grew up in Davidson, NC and started gymnastics at 5 years old at the Lake Norman YMCA where she was coached by Hannah! After gymnastics she did cheerleading throughout middle and high school, and then attended Auburn University. She came to PBTC in the fall of 2021 and continues to learn and grow in the world that is competitive gymnastics! 

Elana Hughes

XCEL Team Director

Originally from Oklahoma City, Elena moved to Charlotte in 2016 and began training under Teshawne and Suzie in the USAG Program. In 2019, Elena started coaching recreational gymnastics at PBTC, and by 2021, was aiding in the AAU Program. After graduating from Butler High, Elena attended the University of Oklahoma and started working at her first gym, Alpha Gymnastics, as USAG Team Coordinator and Recreational Director. Now, Elena has transferred to the University of Florida online, studying Sports Management, and moved back home to Charlotte, returning to PBTC in July!

Alexis MacLellan

Optional Team Coordinator

Alexis a gymnast growing up and competed through high school and started coaching while still competing. Once she returned to coaching in college, it became a lasting passion, and she has been in the gym ever since. She has lived and coached in North Carolina and Florida, where she has guided several state, regional, and national champions along the way.

Yunduan Gao

Optional Team Coach

Gao has had notable success in his gymnastics career, with his best accomplishment being a second-place finish on the horizontal bar at the 1994 Chinese National Gymnastics Championships. With 22 years of coaching experience, Gao’s proudest moment came when his student, Phan Thị Hà Thanh, won third place in the vault at the 2011 World Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, and subsequently participated in the 2012 London and Brazil Olympics. In the United States, Gao celebrated his success by coaching a former athlete to win the National Championship in the 2024 season.

Anna Austin

Pre-Team Coordinator

Anna grew up in Shelby, North Carolina where she started gymnastics at just five years old at First in Flight Gymnastics. She became a level 10 gymnast and moved to Hawaii on an athletic scholarship for acro and tumbling. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology, and she aspires to work towards a Masters in Sports Psychology. She combines her knowledge of the mind with her passion for coaching.
